Antalya Airport to Kaş: Our Longest Transfer, and Why It Is Worth a Driver

Kaş is the farthest place we drive to from Antalya Airport: 200.4 km, about 162 minutes, call it two hours and forty minutes on the road. That length is why people ask about it before booking. Here is what the road is like, what waits at the end, and why a driver is the right way to cover it.

The road to Kaş

The route heads west through Antalya and picks up the coast road at Konyaaltı, the road that serves Kemer, Tekirova and the Kemer corridor. Past Tekirova it turns inland, climbs through the hills around Kumluca and drops back to the sea at Finike, a working town of marina and orange groves. From there it hugs the water: through Demre, where ancient Myra and the church of St Nicholas sit just off the road, then along the cliffs above Kekova before the final descent into Kaş.

Much of it is genuinely beautiful: mountains on one side, sea on the other. It is also winding, with slow lorries and many bends, and no easier when you are driving it yourself after a flight. That is the point of a driver: you watch the coast, doze or hold a sleeping child; the road is somebody else's job.

Kaş

Kaş is 200.4 km from Antalya Airport, about 162 minutes — around two hours and forty minutes in normal traffic. There are no large resort chains here; the town is small boutique hotels and family-run guesthouses on steep, bougainvillea-covered streets around a little harbour, and the driver takes you to your door. The sea is the main event: Kaş is a well-known diving town, with wrecks, reefs and clear water minutes from the quay. Kaputaş Beach, the turquoise cove at the foot of a canyon just west of town, is the picture everyone has seen before arriving; most guests also spend a day on a boat around Kekova and the sunken ruins at Simena. A private transfer to Kaş is booked without a card and without a deposit. The price is fixed per vehicle when you book; you pay the driver in cash — euros, US dollars or Turkish lira — when you reach your hotel.

Why a private transfer for Kaş

Which car

Our recommended car for Kaş is the Premium Van, a Mercedes V-Class for up to six passengers and four bags; on a ride this long its space is worth having even for two, and it takes a diver's kit or a family's luggage. Larger groups book the 12 Seater, a minibus for twelve passengers and eight bags. For up to three people with two bags there is the Premium Sedan. The price is per vehicle and fixed at booking.

Worth knowing before you land

• Your driver waits inside the terminal with a name sign. We track your flight by its number; if it is delayed, he waits up to two hours at no extra charge.
• The transfer runs 24/7 and costs the same at night as by day.
• A child seat is available on request: write it in the notes when you book.
• To book we need a name, phone number, e-mail address and flight number. There is no prepayment, no deposit and no card involved; you pay the driver in cash at the end, in euros (our preference), US dollars or Turkish lira.
• Can the transfer be cancelled? Yes, cancellation is always free. Because we take no prepayment, you never have to deal with a refund process. So that the driver does not set out for nothing, we kindly ask you, if possible, to let us know at least 1 day before the transfer.
• The return is the same road in reverse, at a pickup time you choose; allow the full two hours and forty minutes plus check-in.
