Antalya Airport to Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı and the City Centre: Four Short Rides

Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı and Antalya city centre are all within half an hour of the airport. Distances, times and which car to book for each.

Not every arrival at Antalya Airport means a long drive along the coast. Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı and the old town of Kaleiçi all lie within half an hour of the terminal, on the city side of the gulf. Here is what each is like, how long it takes, and which car suits your group.

What the drive is like

The ride is short and mostly urban. Lara and Kundu lie east of the city, so the car never touches the centre; Konyaaltı alone crosses Antalya end to end, which is why it takes longest. You are in the hotel lobby almost before the drive has begun.

Lara

Lara is 13.8 km from Antalya Airport, about 17 minutes — the closest of the four. Its large resort hotels line the strip between Kemerağzı and Güzeloba, most directly on the beach, so the driver drops you at the hotel entrance. The Düden Waterfall cliffs are minutes away and the shopping malls an easy afternoon out: a beach holiday without giving up the city. A private transfer to Lara is booked without a card and without a deposit. The price is fixed per vehicle when you book; you pay the driver in cash — euros, US dollars or Turkish lira — when you reach your hotel.

Kundu

Kundu is 16.6 km from the airport, about 21 minutes, further along the same eastern shore in the Aksu district. This is the strip of themed hotels, one echoing the Moscow Kremlin, another Istanbul's Topkapı Palace, a third the facades of Venice, with seafront resorts in between. All sit within a few kilometres, so the route hardly changes from hotel to hotel; ancient Perge is nearby. Here too the booking needs no card and no deposit: the fixed per-vehicle price is paid to the driver in cash on arrival — euros, US dollars or Turkish lira.

Konyaaltı

Konyaaltı is 23.3 km from Antalya Airport, about 26 minutes, on the western side of the city. Its hotels are city-scale rather than sprawling resorts, most along the Gürsu–Altınkum–Liman stretch parallel to the long pebble beach. Beach Park, the promenade and Antalya Aquarium make up the everyday circuit; at the far end of the beach the Tünektepe cable car climbs above the bay. A private transfer to Konyaaltı is booked without a card and without a deposit. The price is fixed per vehicle when you book; you pay the driver in cash — euros, US dollars or Turkish lira — when you reach your hotel.

Antalya city centre

The city centre is 15.7 km from the airport, about 20 minutes door to door. Most guests are heading for Kaleiçi, the old town behind Hadrian's Gate, where boutique hotels occupy restored Ottoman houses above the old harbour. Cars cannot reach every door in those lanes, so for smaller places the driver stops at the closest accessible point; the big hotels on the main avenues are served door to door. Here too the booking needs no card and no deposit: the fixed per-vehicle price is paid to the driver in cash on arrival — euros, US dollars or Turkish lira.

Which car for which group

On rides this short the car is about luggage more than legroom. Our recommended option is the Premium Van, a Mercedes V-Class for up to six passengers and four bags. Larger parties book the 12 Seater, a minibus for twelve passengers and eight bags; for up to three people with two bags there is the Premium Sedan. The price is per vehicle, not per person, and fixed when you book.

Worth knowing before you land

  • Your driver waits inside the terminal with a name sign. We track your flight by its number; if it is late, he waits up to two hours at no extra charge.
  • Transfers run 24/7; a landing at three in the morning costs the same as noon.
  • A child seat is available on request: write it in the notes when you book.
  • Booking takes a name, phone number, e-mail address and flight number. Nothing is paid in advance and no card details are asked for; you pay the driver in cash at the end, in euros (our preference), US dollars or Turkish lira.
  • Can the transfer be cancelled? Yes, cancellation is always free. Because we take no prepayment, you never have to deal with a refund process. So that the driver does not set out for nothing, we kindly ask you, if possible, to let us know at least 1 day before the transfer.
  • The return is booked the same way, at a pickup time you choose.

If your hotel sits between two of these areas, just tell us the name.
